A European woman in the Middle East: part II – HomesickGiving up my life in Europe and moving to Israel wasn't an overnight decision. It took several years to revive my interest in the land I spent the first four years of my life. As strange as it may seem, I didn´t have more knowledge about this country than a random person around me. Okay, I had spent a few vacations there, visiting family, and if I would think really hard I would even come up with some basic sentences in Hebrew. However, looking back a few years, it was a friend of mine that really opened my eyes to this unique place in the world. I felt encouraged to take up a Hebrew course and, eventually, decided that I wanted to go back home.
